Today followed on from yesterdays marathon phoning sessions with some more calls to labs and agents. Chasing people again and again. There must be an easier way to do this than to keep calling up and leaving messages, then calling back over and over again. I am guessing that I am just going to get used to this and I think I am getting there. After a day and a half on the phone you get used to being direct pretty quickly!
So that was this morning. All of the prep required for the auditions tomorrow is now in place and I am looking forward to potentially finding a Jacob as well as an Art Teacher! I have probably mentioned this before but I really hope that each person in the room knocks me off my feet and I feel the same going into tomorrow.
In the afternoon I had a meeting with our new Executive Producers! I would like to welcome Doug Abbott and John Wolstenholme onto the project. They both bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team and we are delighted to have them on board. Bios and all the rest coming soon but wanted to share this exciting piece of news.
As well as being an exec and producer, John is also a writer and is going to be providing some guidance on the last minute script rewrites that I am doing. During the meeting myself and John walked through the script and talked through a few little niggles that John felt could be tightened up.
It was really great to be able to talk things through with someone who was excited by the script and story that I want to tell. It also fires off lots of little ideas in my head that would never surface otherwise. I have a lot to think about in this area and want the script to be as tight as possible before we start shooting.

After the meeting I have came back home to the production HQ (my flat) and caught up with an inbox full of emails about the film. More lab information to digest. Sam to speak to about progress on his side, dinner to be eaten (do I have time to eat?) and final preparation for tomorrow.
One thing I am finding is that I have to prepare during the night to be able to make the most of the time that I have when other people are at work tomorrow (i.e. agents, labs, execs, hire houses, etc). Its like there is a mad rush between 9-5 where I try and move everything forward than a realisation from 5-3AM that I have to get ready for the next round! Tomorrows round is auditions though which means 95% less phone calls than today!
