Sophie originally studied Art and Design in California where she worked as a muralist and decorative painter. She returned to England in 2002 to study Costume at Wimbledon school of Art, at the end of her final year winning The Costume Society’s ‘Patterns of Fashion’ award 2006. Since then she has been working as a freelance Costume Designer and Maker.

Sophie’s recent film and television work includes costume design for Conversation Piece, a BBC New Drama Short with John Henshaw and Celia Imrie, and The First Days of Spring, a film directed by Charlie Fink of Noah and The Whale, and released alongside their album of the same name (Parkville Pictures/Tomboy films). Other work as designer includes Sofia’s Diary, season 1, 2 and 3 (BEBO/Fiver), Fried Brain Sandwich (Sony Pictures Television), Dream Song (Artist: Scott Matthews) and several award winning short films.

Sophie frequently works as a costume maker for The Royal Opera House, and has recently worked for the theatre company Antic Disposition on three of their productions: Much Ado About Nothing, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Importance of Being Earnest. Sophie has also worked as costume designer/youth mentor with Bilimankwhe Young Company for several of their productions for the National Theatre New Connections Program.
